On a day where the the forecast said "sunny", it suddenly changed last minute. I was scheduled to photograph Hayley, her husband Cyrus, her daughter Eloise and dog Bernie and I thought that it was likely be rained out. I left for the shoot in hopes that the rainy weather would hold off.
Hayley and her family live in gorgeous Marblehead, Massachusetts. While familiar with Marblehead, I had never visited. Upon arriving to the historic part of town, I was in awe at the quintessential town that looked like something out of a Hallmark movie. It was so picturesque and with it right by the ocean, it was exciting to discover a new place here in Massachusetts.
When I arrived, Bernie the dog greeted me and soon I spotted baby Eloise. She was a calm baby with bright blue eyes and adorable little dimples. Once it was picture time, Eloise cautiously looked at me as I snapped away. With some treats in hand and some help from his owners, Bernie looked my way too. While I wished that he was looking my way because he was fond of me, I knew the only thing keeping him in place, was the promise of another tasty dog treat.
After some time in their beautiful yard, we ventured nearby to a gorgeous rocky area by the ocean. While there was no sign of sun in sight, the fog clouded any view of the boats nearby. Despite that, I aimed to see what we could make of the situation.
The result? Beauty! The cloud cover and hazy fog made for stunning photos and resulted in my favorite photos of any shoot I’ve done to date! Eloise continued to smile and giggle and Mom and Dad were troopers as they trekked over wet rocks and mud to help us get a good shot. After the shoot, I couldn't help but feel thankful to have had this unexpected weather, as it served as a great reminder that many times the unexpected situations in life, can often lead to even better outcomes.
Thanks to Hayley and her beautiful family for letting me capture a day in their lives.
